My Thought for the Week 💭
When I think back to when I started making videos almost a year and some months ago I often think about what could have been if I had created a purely tech based YouTube channel.
People are always looking for ways to get into tech and what the experiences like are for certain roles such as software engineering or product - both of these things I know quite a lot about.
I had worked and learned a ton about the tech space, entrepreneurship, and the glamorized Silicon Valley and could’ve made helpful videos that people could binge.
The main problem….is that I just didn’t care.
Creating content usually starts in one of two ways: creating things on topics you’re interested in or things that you know a lot about.
“Content gurus” in will tell you to always make for the audience especially if you’re an expert or knowledgeable on that thing, and I couldn’t disagree more.
I actually did make a few videos on tech, one of which is blowing up recently and being recommended to people after a year of being published.
But I noticed that I was putting time and energy into videos that did not make me happy, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it showed in some of those older videos.
People do care about the things that you’re interested in.
It’s about how you can make your content attractive enough for people to eventually follow you. Which I’m actively working on as someone that prefers to make commentary videos.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Miko
Creator Quote of the Week 🗣️
There are many paths to achieving success.
Many people think that it comes in the form of random luck, whereas others will say that consistency is key. Neither side is wrong.
Though I would opt for adopting the mindset of building consistent habits.
Consistency invites new opportunities that will eventually lead you to the success you’re trying to achieve.
By the way, I’m going to start featuring more creator quotes that are visual based! :)
