My Thought for the Week 💭
Lately I’ve been thinking about the seasons of weather like Fall, Winter, etc. and how it relates from the creator side of things.
I’ve been through a few seasons that many can relate to:
The season of learning from the start (although learning never really stops)
The season of painfully slow growth
The season of burnout and almost quitting
And just now recently…the season of momentum.
I’ve finally reached the 100 subscriber milestone on my YouTube channel and gain almost 1-2 subscribers for each new video published. My Twitter account has been growing as I share a ton of visuals on my creator journey, and my podcast numbers are doing pretty good as well.
With this in mind I’ve been on a steady consistency schedule for my content and have yet to miss a week for this year.
Keeping in mind that it’s taken me basically a year and many months to get to this point of momentum, I had to get through the painful and tiring seasons first.
Just like the seasons that occur throughout the calendar year, the seasons for a creator will most likely repeat as well…just as different times we can’t anticipate.
And that’s okay! You’ll be geared up for what’s to come because you’ve experienced it before. In which then you’ll be due for a season of rapid growth.
Tricks and Tips Learned💡
Make and sell an online product in < 1 week 🤑
Creating a product and selling it online can seem like an intimidating thing to do - but this guy did it in less than one week!
All you have to do is set aside some time throughout the week, come up with a concept that people have an interest in, create your product, and sell away!
Set your fears aside and start making your first dollars on the internet.
Linked below will be the Twitter thread on Louie’s entire thought process on how he successfully did this and how you can do the same.
Creator Quote of the Week 🗣️
“If your project is:
Long, large, complex
Turn it into tasks that are:
Small, short, simple
Goals become easy when you take it step by step.”
It’s easy to build up projects and ideas in our head, most of which requiring a ton of work. It doesn’t always have to feel that way however.
If possible always try to chunk out a giant task into smaller tasks.
Lately I’ve been editing a little bit of something every day so that I’m not stressed out by the end of the week deadline.
Lessons & Inspiration Found ✨
This short video on doing too much ⏱️
Although this video specifically is talking to YouTubers, the message stands for all creators: try not to do too much.
I had to learn this lesson the hard way when I first got into making content.
I wanted to do everything as one person (I still can’t by the way) and realized that I had to let go of certain things. At least until I can afford a creative team to help that is.
It’s taken me about a year and some months to finally be able to manage all of my creative projects sustainably and there’s still a ton I want to do!
It’s okay to take a break from something, because you have to remember that you can always go back.
