My Thought for the Week 💭
As I get deeper into the creator economy space I’ve been having these battles in my head around the concepts of niching down and quality vs. quantity.
This thought has only come up more recently now due to me trying to be more consistent with my YouTube channel output and scheduling. I originally thought that putting out 3 videos a week would help my growth but since have decided to just stick with 2 videos.
Mainly because A) I was starting to burn out, even with the help of my editor and
B) That amount of output doesn’t matter as much as I initially thought.
There are other channels that put out 1 high quality video a week and have seen more growth than ever before. Even noting that with my own podcast, I’ve been putting more effort into the quality recently in terms of storytelling and audio mixing, and am seeing the best numbers ever.
No, this does not mean I’m leaning more towards quality. There are people who have success creating a ton of content every single week.
It just means that for right now, specifically in my situation, I don’t have the bandwidth to keep up with both.
I’m going to revisit this topic again as my journey goes on, but for right now I’m happy to be in the position where I can balance both quality and quantity for my videos.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Miko
Tricks and Tips Learned💡
The 10x Rule 🤔
People are hesitant to take on creative projects for a variety of different reasons, but one of the main reasons is that they fear the potential commitment of having to go all in after they’ve done it once.
That’s not true at all. You can stop something whenever the hell you want to.
Listening to a podcast episode from The Future Belongs to Creators, it was mentioned that if you really want to get a feel for something just do it 10x and see what happens.
From there you can decide if you hate it, enjoy it, or want to continue with that specific project.
The 10x rule is definitely more low effort than the Law of 100 and I recommend it to anyone that’s hesitant about starting that project they can’t stop thinking about.
Creator Quote of the Week 🗣️
“Filmed my first YouTube video yesterday
Then I realized I didn't love the camera angle, so I'm re-filming today
Is it a hassle? Yes
Was it a waste? No - I'm now 10X better at speaking to a camera
The opposite of success is not failure.
It's stagnation
Just keep growing.”
In everything I’ve made in the last year I don’t think there’s ever truly been a perfect process.
My camera died or ran out of storage on multiple occasions while filming. The recording software I use for my podcast abruptly stops recording the guest’s audio. And a variety of other instances I can’t even recall right now.
It sucks to have to re-do something we worked hard on, but that’s all a part of the process of getting the reps in.
It’s better to learn and grow from your mistakes early on anyways.
Any reps are better than no reps.

A newsletter I’ve been reading 📰
It’s always nice to read other creator based newsletters and one of my favorites I’d like to share is Growth Currency.
Every single week Dylan shares a ton of resources based around marketing, business, and tools you need to grow as a creator.
I always discover something new in his newsletter that I can apply to my own creative work, so if you like my newsletter then you’ll definitely like his!
🥰🥰🥰🥰 Thank you so much for the shout out, Miko! Great edition today, I love the Quantity vs. Quality debate/conundrum/struggle. Always down for a discussion on the topic 😃
