My Thought for the Week 💭
Lately I’ve been feeling as though I’m constantly running on a hamster wheel.
There never seems to be an end in sight, yet I keep running and pushing until I inevitably fall off the wheel, and it stops spinning.
In the early stages of being a creator there is rarely any pressure on you at all. However once you get into a rhythm of publishing and growing, it can feel as though you have a ton of people counting on you to put out content every week.
I’ve barely scraped the surface of having a few hundred people follow me and yet I am extremely intimidated to constantly publish.
Getting started is the easy part when it comes to content, it’s continuing with the process that is the hardest. And for me this level of maintaining consistency has been the hardest part.
I hate letting people down and I definitely want to keep running on the wheel as much as I can, keeping in mind that there are healthier ways of going about this.
One way being the outsourcing of heavy duty work such as editing for my videos or podcast episodes. Another involving better time management and batching methods.
You don’t have to always be sprinting on the wheel to get content out.
You just need to be strategic and patient enough to find ways so that the wheel can spin without you.
It’s taken me almost a year to learn and realize this, but that’s okay. It’s all a part of the process.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Miko
Creator Quote of the Week 🗣️
“Every single one of us has a unique collection of interests and we all bring a unique lens to those interests.
Simply by being you (and not me or anyone else), you’ve already chosen your niche.”
I’ve written about what it means to experiment and find your niche, as well as how to steal like an artist while simultaneously remaining unique.
Though I’ve realized that I myself am struggling to find my voice in the work that I create. Yes I “steal” content I’m inspired by, yet at the same time I occasionally find myself trying to be someone else. Unconsciously of course.
For instance, I’ve been really trying to get into writing a bunch of tweets and threads to gain a following.
I try to follow some of these tweet formulas and formats that are out there and made others go viral and can’t help but feel a bit..weird after hitting publish.
It’s not my voice. It’s not me. So when you’re out there finding inspiration and experimenting with your niche, always be mindful of if you feel it’s genuinely you or if you’re just glued to the formulas.
People want your unique voice. There’s enough of the same out there.

A tweet about doing less, not more 🐦
This is the balance that is difficult to strike as a creator.
Do you push yourself to do more for the “daily grind”? Or do you opt to take a much needed vacation you’ve been putting off for months?
Without giving yourself time to recharge and rest, I’m not sure how you could expect to be productive, or even creative for that matter.
Doing more does not lead to better results. It leads to burnout and “meh”, if not worse results.
