You're trying to learn too much all at once - Here's how to stop

My Thought for the Week 💭
Welcome back to another issue of Creator Thought Thursdays!
I believe it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve last written and have missed it quite a bit.
Looking at some other newsletters I follow, some do publish every week and others publish once a month. I hope you can have patience with me as I figure out a publishing schedule that works best.
I thought I’d want to quit the newsletter, but I do still enjoy the process of writing it and sharing my insights, so on we move!
Now onto this week’s thought on trying to learn too much.👇
As someone that’s managing multiple content mediums, it can be easy to get caught up in learning anything and everything related to that specific thing.
Take for example, starting a newsletter. You’ve started it and are deeply in love with the process of it, now you want to learn how to grow it. Oh but wait, you want to learn how to monetize it at the same time!
Then you proceed to find the hundreds of videos, articles, Tweet threads, etc. on how to grow and monetize.
At first you’re able to take on some of these resources, yet overtime you come across more and more, and you’re suddenly overwhelmed.
There will always be hundreds of ways to learn how to improve your content and growth, but as humans we only have a limited amount of time and energy.
A simple trick to prevent this overwhelm? Focus on one thing at a time.
Spend months focusing on growing your audience. Then when your goal for that has been achieved, now you can move onto figuring out how to monetize.
It always goes back to the process.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Miko
Creator Quote of the Week 🗣️
“Say it with me:
Done is better than perfect.”
No piece of content you put out there will ever be “perfect.”
Perfect doesn’t really exist in this space in my opinion, because art is subjective.
That thing you’ve been working on or have been hesitant to start, just get it done and hit publish.

One of my biggest gripes with the education system (at least in the US) has been that making mistakes is viewed as being a bad thing.
You’re usually penalized for most things revolving around course content and homework, thus leading to feelings of thinking everything must be done perfectly without little to no mistakes.
Mistakes constantly help you learn and improve.
I highly doubt that the first thing we ever do will come out “perfect.”
It’s through mistakes that we can learn what to improve on for next time and we can look back at everything we’ve done and feel good about where we are today.
I often look back on my first few YouTube videos and podcast episodes and smile at how far I’ve come because of the mistakes I’ve learned from.
I was missing this newsletter in my inbox, Miko. I'm so glad to see you are doing it because you are enjoying it 🙌 Your content is great, and I encourage you to keep going! But only if you're needing the encouragement 😊
